Recording

A Recording is the final mastered recording of a song, optimally identified by an ISRC. Different mixes of the same song can be assigned different ISRC codes depending on the release process. A recording can contain data such as the song title for this particular recording, the track length, bpm, contributors, release artist, mixer, producer, etc. An ISRC is an International Standard Recording Code, the internationally recognized identification tool for sound and music video recordings. For example, the same recording released on two different albums should have the same ISRC, but if the recording is altered, it will have a new ISRC. The original single of David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” has a different ISRC to the 1990 remastered version of the same recording.
